Committees

There are many committees that AAFSO maintains throughout the year and we need YOU!  Committee descriptions and objectives are listed below.  We are always looking for members and friends of the organization to join a committee, and we are open to new ideas for committees as well.  Feel free to take a look around and if you are interested in joining a committee, or would like more information, please email AAFSO Executive Committee at aafso-executive@ncsu.edu .

Fundraising Committee

To work with staff to establish a fundraising plan incorporating a series of appropriate vehicles, such as special events, and product sales, etc;  to take the lead in certain types of outreach efforts, such as chairing a dinner/dance committee or hosting fundraising parties, etc.

Public Relations Committee

Maintaining the organization’s image and communicating its message to its members, investors, and the general public.

Programming Committee

Overseeing new program development, and monitoring and assessing existing programs. In addition, Initiating and guiding program evaluations; and Facilitating discussions about program priorities for the Organizations.

Elections Committee

To meet with prospective board members and recommend candidates to the board. To conduct an orientation session for new board members and to organize training sessions for the entire board.

Community Service Committee

To assist the organization in planning, conducting, and evaluating an organization community service project. To assist with the processing of the event with members as part of the overall experience.
